Technology Description: UCSD researchers have developed software for the management of clinical trials (“CTMS”) in both single and multi-center research programs that provides a cost-effective, resource-sensitive, and easy-to-use alternative to current research-specific data management systems. This software provides for a complete continuum of data management tasks, including administrative, clinical, and correlative science components.
Applications: The CTMS software is ideally suited for application in the translational and conventional clinical research domains, especially in environments involving multiple, geographically distributed investigators performing integrated programs of research. The software is particularly well suited for application in hematology- and oncology-specific investigator-initiated and sponsored clinical trials, where cost-effective, real-time data collection, quality assurance, and analysis tasks are required. The software is designed to ensure rapid installation and ease-of-administration, providing cross-platform thick- and thin-client user interfaces.
