Description:
University researchers have invented a method for real-time estimation of face orientation for crucial tasks, such as driving. For car interior environments, the traditional skin-tone based face detection in indoor situations is not feasible because of drastically changing illumination conditions both in brightness and color. This invention is robust for unconstrained situations such as free human motion, varied facial expressions, uneven illumination, varied backgrounds, sensor noise, and many other human and machine factors.
