Description:
University researchers have written a high-performance
proxy caching server for web clients, supporting FTP,
gopher, and HTTP data objects. Using a single, non-blocking,
I/O-driven process, Squid is able to handle all requests.
For more information on the software and how it is
used in academic and research settings, see the SQUID
website, at http://www.squid-cache.org/
