Prior to joining UC San Diego Technology Transfer Office, Dr. Denise Lew held research positions for 10 years at several San Diego biotech companies. As a scientist, Denise’s areas of expertise are molecular biology, gene therapy and animal models of cancer and infectious disease. At TTO she is a senior licensing officer with responsibility for the inventions originating from faculty involved in life sciences research.
Denise earned her BA degree in biology in Dallas, and worked for several years at the Stanford University Department of Biochemistry. After obtaining her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, she was awarded an NIH fellowship to pursue her postdoctoral training at the Salk Institute in La Jolla.
