
Scott Minick
Scott Minick is a Managing Director with ARCH Venture Partners. He joined the firm as a Venture Partner in 1998. ARCH invests primarily in companies co-founded with leading scientists and entrepreneurs, concentrating on bringing to market innovations in life sciences, physical sciences, and information technology.
Mr. Minick serves on the boards of Achaogen, Limerick BioPharmaceuticals, Celula, BIND Biosciences, Chiasma, and Sorbent Therapeutics. Mr. Minick formerly served as Chairman of Xcyte Therapies (XCYT) through its IPO in 2004 and subsequent acquisition of Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals (CYCC). He also previously served as Executive Chairman of Amphora Discovery.
In the early to mid-1990’s, Mr. Minick held senior leadership positions as President, CEO, or COO at the following biotechnology companies: SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, OncoTherapeutics, and LXR Biotechnology.
From 1981 to 1993, he was an executive of Baxter Healthcare, holding leadership positions in the device, service and diagnostics businesses. Previously, Mr. Minick was an executive at Eli Lilly.
He received his postgraduate training in neurobiology at the Salk Institute, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a B.A. with Honors from the University of California at San Diego.
