Dominic F. Montisano, PhD
Senior Licensing Officer
Dr. Montisano is a senior licensing officer with responsibility for the inventions originating from faculty research in life sciences. Prior to joining UC San Diego TTO in March 2006, he held several positions in biotechnology companies in San Diego for 12 years. He was a Scientific Business Analyst for Chiron Technologies Center for Gene Therapy and later became an Associate Director for Intellectual Property at Idun Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for managing the company's patent portfolio and all company agreements.
Dr. Montisano received a BA degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego and an MA and PhD in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He performed 16 years of bench research in cell and molecular biology including post-doctoral research at UCLA in the Department of Pathology and as an Assistant Research Biochemist position at the UCSD Medical Center in the divisions of Metabolism and Endocrinology, Pulmonary, and Dermatology.
Dr. Montisano is also a registered patent agent with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
