- SDSU MBA Fellowships/Internships
TechTIPS/SDSU MBA fellowships are designed to support
commercialization of UCSD technologies with designated
resources in the form of highly qualified and capable
SDSU MBA students. Fellows perform strategic industry
analysis, marketing plan development for technologies,
and other related activities. All candidates for the TechTIPS/SDSU
fellowship program are expected to have completed core
courses (or equivalent), possess the ability to work in
a fast-paced environment, and have excellent writing skills.
Fellows often have direct knowledge of particular industries
related to their project, though it is not required. Fellowships
can be applied for credit in the SDSU MBA program.
- SITTNET
Under the auspices of Science & Technology Commission
of Shanghai Municipality, “Shanghai International Technology
Transfer Network”, called SITTNET for short, is initiated
and organized by the National Technology Transfer Center
of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Technology
Innovation Center, Shanghai Co-Way International Technology
Transfer Center Company Limited, the Technology Transfer
Center of Shanghai Academy of Science & Technology
and Shanghai Small Enterprises Service center. It is a
part of Shanghai research & development public service
platform system giving overall service and support to
Shanghai international technical transfer.
SITTNET aims at integrating resources of companies concerned
in Shanghai dealing with international technical transfer,
strengthening the link of production, learning and researching,
promoting the effective flow of scientific & technical
intermediary resources, accelerating the technical exchange
and high-tech production trade between international and
regional areas, giving support to accelerate industrialization
of national and international scientific & technical
achievements and transnational transfer of industrial
technology.

Triton
Innovation Network (TIN) $50k Entrepreneurship Competition
UCSD TechTIPS has partnered with The Triton Innovation
Network (TIN), a UCSD-based student organization, that
is organizing first annual $50k Entrepreneurship Competition.
The purpose of the competition is motivate the formation
of multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists,
and business-minded students to drive community development
and innovation.
Team participating in the competition will consist of
at least one full-time UCSD undergraduate or graduate
students. The first place team will receive 30K with the
second and third place teams receiving 10k in prize money.
An additional 30k will be given to the winning team if
the foundation of their technology is based on UCSD intellectual
property. Sponsored by the UCSD TechTIPS (Technology Transfer
& Intellectual Property Services) and known as the
“UCSD TechTIPS Topper” this added incentive
will help in promoting UCSD technology.
The UCSD $50K Entrepreneurship Competition aims to:
Encourage interdisciplinary networking and collaboration.
Build local support by involving the San Diego business
community as judges and mentors for the competition.
Current sponsors include the Rady School of Management,
Jacobs School of Engineering, Scripps Institute of Oceanography,
IRPS, UCSD TechTIPS, the Von Liebig Center, and several
student organizations. In addition to internal UCSD support,
TIN relies on the participation of the San Diego business
community to support and enable the $50k Entrepreneurship
Competition.
In addition to fostering collaboration amongst students
the competition aims to build bridges between UCSD and
the local San Diego business community that will lead
to successful business ventures.
